To begin this story, I’m playing a conguration wizard named Balthazar, one of my friends is palying a Barbarin Dragonborn, Krogar, and other one is playing a light domain cleric named Solaire. Slight spoilers to anyone who reads this who in playing Curse of Strahd.
Now to begin, we started the session where we left off from the pervios session where we entered the town of Breze and had a glimps of Baba Lysaga’s hut. Then we stated the session with figureing out what to do and how to take care of Baba Lysaga. We met Murial and she was telling us about Baba Lysaga, who my party would call Mama Lasanga. She asked us if we were crazy enough to go and fight her. Balthazar/I said, “Yep, we’re carzy enought to fight her.” So she gave me a spell scroll of dispell magic to help us out fighting agenst her hut, Balthazar figured he’d wouldn’t need it and would add it to his spell book later.
We went exploring in the abbandod town of Breze and Balthazar discoved one of mama lasanga’s scarcorws thanks to the observent feat. So we went and investigated it, and it attacked us becuase Krogar poked it. I tried to hit it with ray of frost, and my familar tried to attack it. We both failed. Then Krogar hit it with his great axe, and Solaire bonked it on the head, and it died.
Then Mama Lasagna came out of the hut and said, “Who’s there?” in our DM’s creepy old hag viose. We all emidently rolled stealth. Our DM was nice and gave us advatage. We all rolled good and she didn’t see us. Then Krogar and Solaire dicided to do something that would alter the corse of this session in our favor. Krogar had a Strahd puppet and he threw it, natural 19. Our DM said that it landed up right on a rock near Mama Lasaga and Solaire casted Thaumaturgy and said, “Mother, it is me. Strahd, your son! Come hold me in your arms!” Our DM had Solaire roll a deception check with his Wisdom instead of charisma becase he’s a cleric. She flew over in her skull and picked up the Strahd doll and took it back to her hut. Right then Balthazar stood up and opened a small portal to the fire plane and conjured Chromatic orbe, Nat 20. I blew up her back and delt 34 points of fire damage to her. The rest of our party got a seprise round. Solaire casted Sacred Flame, she failed the save and took a fair amout of fire damage. Then Korgar went on a recless rage and striked her with his two hand axes. Both hit and it was time for initiative.
I went first and I had her make an intel save as I casted mind-sliver, she failed the save and took physic damge. Then my familar attacked her and clawed mama lesagana. She got pissed and attacked my familar, then went and attacked Kroger with a fingure of death, he succeded the con save and only took 28 points of necrotic damge. Kroger was not going down. Then it was his turn, he wacked her hard with his two hand axes. She was not happy. Then it was solaires turn, and with the aid of his god, he invoked a 3rd level scorching ray and 3 of the 4 beams hit her and after that She died being burned alive.
Now we just had to work on defeating her hut. It was pissed that it’s master was just killed. So it used it’s roots to pick up a boulder from within the swamp and threw it at me and Solaire who were hiding in the runis of a house. I took 18 bludgoning damge and Eda took 30 bludgoning damage from one of the houses roots. From that she turned into a pile of celestial dust. Then it was my turn, I opended a portal as I walked into the hut as I casted Misty step and entered the hut. In there I found a chest, a bed, and something glowing under the floor bords. I used my minjor conjuration ability to sumon a three foot ice pic and then I proceded to break the floor bords so I could get what ever was glowing in the floor borads. Then Krogar did what barbains do, hit stuff with their axes, and so he did. He put a pretty big dent in the side of one of the hut’t roots. After that Solaire healed himself because he was low on HP. Then the house started attacking the a group of ravens that had come to help us. A few got swated down and turned back into humans because they were ware-ravens. And then back to me, I rached into the floor bords to pull out the orb, my DM then told me to make a DEX save. Modded 23. I managed to pull my hand out before the floor bords bit my hand off. Yes you heard me right, they nearly bit my hand off.
That managed to defeat the house and we gained a lot of really good stuff. I gained enough gold to add Dispell magic to my spell book and some pipes of haunting. Krogar went over to mama lasianga’s skull and attuned to, so know we have a flying barbaian. Solaire took some spell scrolls of cleric spells. After a minute after this battle, Murial flu down and was like, “You really did that?” I said, “yep, I told you we were crazy enough.” Our DM said she had a face that could only be described as suspention of disbelief. Which was also our DM’s facial expression.
Best session ever. I feel bad for thoes who missed the session. But as the same time I feel like if everyone else showed up, the battle would be even shorter than it was.
